Here are a few experiments with colour and texture that Eric Schockmel has been trying out as he develops the aesthetic for Immunecraft, (formerly known as The Garden of Synthetic Delights). These cells will be central to the gameplay elements of Eric’s piece, and have been inspired by by a variety of scientific imaging techniques, such as dark field microscopy, confocal microscopy and two-photon intravital microscopy. Colour combinations found in nature, ranging from those found in coral reefs to animal tissue, have also been influential in these creative decisions.
