The project is developing both conceptually and in terms of our understanding of the science. We have focused on a simple inflammation and have been discussing which parts to include and which parts to ignore. We are attempting to draw out some of the gene manipulation techniques which form a central part of the scientific investigation and we have been looking at cytometry and 3D confocal imaging methods used in the laboratory. We are trying to work out how to utilise or make reference to these tools. On a practical level we have come up with a framework for gathering source footage for the film which involves our skills in interaction and immersing an audience in a 3D space.
The next stage for us is to start generating imagery and interactive experiments to explore the possible visual aesthetic and narrative of Battle of Blister.
